Camera Supports

Tripods and tripod heads should be chosen in much the same way as you would for a film camera. This means that for a Genesis, Arriflex D-21 or Sony HDW F900 you should have the quality and strength you would use for a 35 mm camera, and for the Sony HDW 700P range and their 900R, or a Panasonic HDC 20A, you could go down to the slightly lighter equipment you might use for a fully equipped Arri SR3 or a well-loaded Super 16 camera. Unless we are going to be taking the kit into difficult locations my preference is to always go for the 35 mm type supports as they are usually much more robust and generally nicer to use.
