Chapter 7. A Small ISP Network: An Availability Analysis
In this chapter, we are going to go through the process of predicting the availability for a small Internet service provider. We will do this by using all of the techniques we have learned as we have gone through the book. We are also going to begin using some tools to do our work, rather than doing all of the computations by hand. As you work through the chapter, you will notice the inclusion of some screenshots from a spreadsheet. These screenshots are from a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that we call SHARC, System Hardware Availability and Reliability Calculator.
