Predicting Availability Considering the Environment

In some networks, considering the environment's affect on downtime might be too much work. For example, if a power outage were a happy break time for a large percentage of the employees, then including environmental considerations in your availability calculations would be a waste of time. Power failures are not that common and can be ignored if everyone appreciates them as a good excuse to take a break.
