ISO 27000 Security Standards Family

Similar to the NIST 800 special publication family, the ISO 27000 family provides the foundation for implementing and managing effective cybersecurity programs. ISO 27001 specifies Information Security Management Systems, while ISO 27002, formerly known as ISO 17799, covers security control mechanisms. The ISO 27000 family was developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO), in conjunction with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), through a series of working groups including WG1 through WG3.
