The inpatient environment presents numerous opportunities for the effective delivery of healthcare information. Imagine, for a moment, a large hospital with 500 beds, with 75 devoted to intensive-care patients. In such an environment, at any moment in time, some patients are improving as expected, some are stable but haven’t yet turned the corner for definite improvement, and, unfortunately, some are deteriorating.
