802.11 A set of standards for implementing wireless local area network (WLAN) computer communication in the 2.4 GHz, 3.6 GHz, and 5 GHz frequency bands.

802.1x An IEEE standard for port-based network access control (PNAC). It is part of the IEEE 802.1 group of networking protocols. It provides an authentication mechanism to devices wanting to attach to a LAN or WLAN.
