The number of people who can sit in the tub at

the same time depends on the perimeter of the tub.

So we need the hot tub with the

biggest perimeter? But we’ve also got

to limit the water…so it’s not as simple

as just “bigger is better,” is it?

That’s true—in fact this hot tub problem is a

lot deeper than it first appears.

First, you’ve got to compare perimeters of polygons which are

all different shapes, and second you’ve got to work to a limited

amount of water…3 cubic meters.
