Now that you’ve got a few hacks under your belt, it is time to add some skills
to your repertoire that will allow you to tackle the more advanced projects
coming up.
Some of the projects in this section require that you be able to identify the
value of resistors and capacitors, know what a transistor looks like, identify
integrated circuit packages, and be familiar with several different connec-
tors. In addition, you will need to know how to read a component manufac-
turer’s data sheet to determine how the part should be installed in a circuit
and where to make the connections specified by a schematic diagram.
