Robert D. Austin is dean of the faculty of business at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, in Canada. This job and his former one as the CEO of the CBS-SIMI Executive Foundation (the largest executive education provider in Northern Europe) have provided many “harder than I thought” leadership experiences, for which he is sometimes grateful.
