Harder Than I Thought is written for new and potential CEO leaders, those working closely with CEOs, such as board members and senior leadership team executives, those interested in or studying general management who want to better understand the CEO’s role, and those who are simply curious. Although our book is fiction, the story that we have told is being played out, with variation, in many modern corporations. We have used the cover of fiction to identify and elucidate the key challenges and decisions twenty-first-century CEOs face, with the intention to enable reflection.
