CloudWatch metrics are collected in vast quantities. Analyzing such big data is futile without an elegant visualization tool. CloudWatch has a dashboard that is easily configurable from the web console.
Each dashboard has a widget that shows statistics in one of the following forms:
- Line graph: In these graphs, the x-axis consists of the time period and the y-axis shows the values of the mapped metrics. There is a single plotted line, and each metric is represented on the graph with a legend.
- Stacked area graph: In these graphs, the x-axis consists of the time period and the y-axis shows the values of the mapped metrics. Multiple line graphs are mapped and overlayed for each metric's value, as a function of time.
