The testing environment lists all software components, including the application, all dependencies, and the platform. When preparing a security-testing environment, it's recommended to have a staging environment that is exactly the same as the production one. In most cases, the security issue may not be caused by the software application itself but by the dependencies or the insecure configuration of the platform.
