Some Atari games require the player to press the Fire button to start the game. Some games require the Fire button to be pressed after every life is lost. More often that not, this is the only use for the Fire button! Although it might look trivial for us to realize that, it may be difficult for the reinforcement learning agents to figure that out on their own sometimes.
