Morphological snakes

Morphological snakes refers to a family of methods (similar to the active contours) for image segmentation. However, the morphological snakes are faster and numerically more stable than the active contours, since they use morphological operators (for example, dilation/erosion) over a binary array, whereas the active contours solve PDEs over a floating-point array. There are a couple of morphological snakes methods available in the scikit-image implementation, namely Morphological Geodesic Active Contours (MorphGAC with morphological_geodesic_active_contour()) and Morphological Active Contours without Edges (MorphACWE with morphological_chan_vese()).
