Designing Your Set

Set design has three components: the appearance of the background, how your subjects are dressed and how they are positioned on the set. Without question, set design can have a profound effect on both the perceived and actual quality of your compressed video. That is, choose inappropriate clothing for your subjects, and your video looks amateurish; to add insult to injury, a poor choice like a striped shirt will add an obvious artifact called a moiré pattern to the video, degrading visual quality.
