Administration
File and directory administration is no fun. It’s also no fun to have to go back into a large file archive and figure out what goes with what. Blogging programs make it easy to fire and forget, leaving directories filled with oddly named files and temporary directories that ended up not being temporary.
A few simple steps can be taken to be sure that you know what you’ve got and that no one else is using your files and bandwidth. Google, MSN, Yahoo! and other search engines have great results because they go out and scour the Internet for every last file it can find and put them in a search result. Sometimes, particularly with image files, a descriptive file name can end up being a liability.
