Resource groups

A resource group is a logical container that functions as a unit of management. With resource groups, you can do the following:

  • Manage security policies with access control
  • See and manage the costs of the resources in the group
  • Export and import resource groups 
  • Delete a resource group and all the resources it holds atomically

Whenever you create a resource in Azure, you need to create or select a resource group that the resource will be created in:
