You need to make sure that you click the Open Blue Ocean button, that looks similar to this:
Once you click the Open Blue Ocean button, you will be redirected to this URL: http://localhost:8080/blue/organizations/jenkins/pipelines. The Jenkins UI will look very different and behave differently.
