Image Segmentation

This chapter explores the ImageSegmentation package. You will learn how to use supervised and unsupervised methods to simplify or represent an image as something that is more meaningful and easy to analyze. Sometimes, image segmentation is called upon to be the first step in object identification in an image.

The following topics are covered in this chapter:

  • Supervised image segmentation using seeded region growing
  • Image segmentation using Felzenszwalb and fast scanning algorithms
  • Small segment pruning
