Abstract

Recycling is one of the more established parts of sustainable materials management (SMM). Jurisdictions worldwide are fast moving away from a wasteful society to one of resources. SMM has caught the fancy of many a regulator worldwide and has been defined as “an approach to promote sustainable materials use, integrating actions targeted at reducing negative environmental impacts and preserving natural capital throughout the lifecycle of materials, taking into account economic efficiency and social equity”. ...
