Abstract

Information is crucial to the success of any recycling and recovery program. Policy instruments are implemented to achieve a set target (e.g. increasing the share of recycling in waste management) by reducing the barriers that inhibit stakeholders to achieve the results, or stimulating stakeholders to contribute to achieving the target. In practice, many barriers limit the uptake of actions by households, companies, and waste processors to increase recovery of recyclable materials and/or products.
