Abstract:

Glaucoma is an eye disease resulting from excess intraocular pressure (IOP) and affects millions worldwide; moreover, it gives very little warning sign, until vision is affected. A reliable technique for continuous monitoring of IOP has been long sought after. However, it took the advent of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology to introduce a step change in the possibilities of miniaturization to truly open the door to such a possibility.
