Friction–vibration interactions and applications in computer hard disk drive system

Abstract:

This chapter presents critical applications of friction–vibration interactions in computer hard disk drive systems. The present high storage capacity computer hard disk drive applies two nm spacing head-disk interface. At such a small clearance between slider and disk, friction/contact–vibration interactions are unavoidable, and the modeling, design and implementation of a stable interface are critical for hard disk drive products.
