8.2. WHAT'S AN EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT ORGANIZATION?

Imagine an orchestra filled with virtuoso musicians. Each musician is well-trained and accomplished. Each individual or small group of instruments (e.g., woodwinds or brass) can produce wonderful music. It would only seem obvious then that a room full of highly accomplished musicians could do nothing but produce the best music. However, great musicians, even when they work well in teams or sections, do not guarantee an orchestra's success.
