7.3. TESI® RESEARCH ON CONFLICT RESOLUTION SKILLS AND DIVERGENT THINKING

Divergent thinking is so important to a team's ability to perform at a high level of effectiveness that we analyzed the TESI® to determine how much divergent thinking is called for within the seven different scales and how that skill affects overall team capacity. We hypothesized that there is a strong connection between the fact that many people rate their team lowest in conflict resolution skills and the team's ability to apply divergent thinking. The research did find a strong connection between the ability to engage in divergent thinking and the perception of a team's ability to resolve conflict well.
