13.4. HOW STAGES OF AI SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF EI

The stages of the 5-D cycle are Define (Topic Choice), Discover, Dream, Design, and Destiny (Cooperrider, Sorensen, Yaeger, & Whitney, 2001). Define is the initial stage of choosing the purpose of coaching, the presenting issue or challenge as seen by the client. The second stage, Discover, is the inquiry into what works, the positive core of one's proudest accomplishments and experiences that have resulted in success in life up to the present.
