14.2. HISTORICAL APPROACHES TO SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE

To date there are two major approaches to SI. A brief knowledge of each helps us understand the meaning and value of SI as a concept in everyday practice. Many of us prefer to capture SI and constructs such as EI, personality type and style, motivation, and aptitude by using psychometric assessments, which essentially rely on experimental and statistical methods.
