Summary
In this chapter, we learned about the concept of churn in telecom companies and why it is essential to minimize it. We covered Bayes' Theorem to understand how conditional probabilities can help us predict outcomes in the future. We used MapReduce to process a file to generate input for a model builder. We built the model in Java and then predicted an outcome with its help. The next chapter of this book will cover the application of Hadoop in the area of the Internet of Things.
