The Sample Project
In this chapter we'll construct a preliminary database for a fictitious rental property management system called RENTMAN. I've always found that I learn more by building things, so I've created a sample project for us to work through together. As I said earlier, if you have a recent version of a full-featured data modeling tool, you should have no problem working through the examples in this chapter. The portion of RENTMAN that we'll construct here is very basic indeed, and any decent modeling tool should be able to handle it easily.
