Create a Whole Product

As discussed in earlier chapters, the whole product concept[7] describes not only providing a software product that customers want to buy, but providing a complete solution to the customers' problems and needs. A whole product includes the software, customer services, technical support, appropriate technical interfaces, ease of integration with other tools, ease of installation, and a forward-looking plan. A development manager cannot focus solely on the product software. Instead, look at what it takes to expand the software into a whole product, with a focus on interfaces, integration with other tools, and ease of customer implementation.
