Learning the Technology, Process, and Product

During your first two months on the job, get an overview of company technology, process, and product. Learn about the technology used, how the product works, how the development process works, and how the development team members work together. Assess what you know and identify areas that you don't fully understand. Then fill in the gaps by systematically collecting the missing information.

Know your product inside out. Review, at a minimum, the top-level architecture showing the major component blocks of the product along with data flows. Developers on your team should be able to describe these elements and provide existing overview documents.
