Setting Data Center Temperatures

Part of what determines how hard your Data Center cooling system has to work, and therefore how much energy it consumes, is the temperature at which you maintain the room. Operating a server environment at 65 degrees Fahrenheit (18.3 degrees Celsius) obviously requires more electricity for cooling than operating it at 75 degrees Fahrenheit (23.9 degrees Celsius), for instance.
