The acknowledgments are the hardest part of a book to write. I’ll go in chronological order.

My journey to sustainable business began while I was in upstate New York on maternity leave with my daughter, Dot, in 2006. So, Little Green Dot, you come first. This book really started with you.

Fast forward to my friends at Ogilvy who helped me next. To Colin Mitchell, who encouraged me to go for it. To Jeremy Katz, who edited Mainstream Green, the inspiration for Chapter 5, as well as the essay that was the genesis of this book. He also reviewed and commented on endless versions of the proposal and helped shape the thinking. He’s a mensch.
