In this section, we will learn some of the basic commands in the R language. We will also learn about data types and how to prepare data for use in R, as well as how to import data created by other software into a form in which you can use R to analyze it. This will be followed by a discussion of some special properties of R graphs, such as how to save them for use in other programs and the differences between graphs used for data analysis and graphic presentation. Finally, we will look briefly at several graphics systems available to R users.
