Chapter 11. Progress Bars, Sliders, and Separators

Three Swing components are discussed in this chapter: JProgressBar, JSlider, and JSeparator.

Progress bars are frequently used to communicate the percentage of a time-consuming task that has been completed, and in fact, this chapter provides just such an example. However, providing feedback concerning the progress of a task is typically much easier to accomplish with the ProgressMonitor and ProgressMonitorInputStream utilities, which are discussed in “Progress Monitoring”.
