Allow All Actions to Complete before Cutting Camera
There may be many occasions where this practice is neither possible nor prudent, but, for the most part, it should be followed for it makes a great deal of sense. It is the job of the editor to decide when to cut into a shot and when to cut out of a shot. The camera operator should cover all of the action so that the editor has that footage from which to make his or her best choice for the cut.
If an actor is to walk out of frame, let them walk fully out of frame and allow the empty space to be recorded for a short while. The same goes for a car, plane, dog, and so forth.
