Shoot Matching Camera Angles When Covering Dialogue

With a traditional approach to shooting a simple dialogue scene you would most likely begin by covering the wide or establishing shot, moving the camera for a tighter two-shot, and then finally moving in for over-the-shoulders and clean single CUs. Working this way, you allow for the broadest moves first, and the talent gets to match their lines and action better. The lighting also gets easier as you move in for closer shots because you do not need to pay as much attention to the entire set, but just on the talent’s face.
