The Johannesburg Plan of Implementation (JPOI) is the key document agreed at the Johannesburg World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD). The final agreement was seen by many as flawed, lacking somewhat in terms of structure and coherent objectives. However, the agreement did manage to produce more than was expected, taking into account the political climate under which it was negotiated in 2002.
