The main Google search page is an exercise in simplicity, pretty much just a search box and a search button—none of the clutter you see at other search sites. That doesn’t mean that you can’t customize the way the page looks, however slightly—which you’ll learn how to do in this chapter.

Setting Google Search Preferences

Most users aren’t aware that they can personalize the way in which Google displays search results—and, to a small degree, the way the main search page looks. Well, you can, thanks to Google’s Preferences page.
