17. Recipes for Using Google+

Throughout time, when people are faced with something new, the way they learn to integrate those new things into their lives is through recipes. During World War II, housewives (hey, that’s what it was at the time) were offered all kinds of substandard cuts of meat at the grocers because the Allies needed the “good stuff” overseas with them. Thus, women were asked to prepare liver, beef tongue, and tripe. When faced with a giant purple tongue of a cow, there wasn’t an immediate and obvious response, and most didn’t have information about what to do with these unusual cuts of meat.

Enter recipe cards. Magazines and newspapers went into overdrive creating ideas on how to turn that beef tongue into something the kids ...
