Summary

In this chapter, we have briefly looked at multiple storage options offered by the GCP. We started the chapter by discussing and deploying persistent storage to compute engine virtual machines. Next, we discussed cloud storage and the concept of buckets. Buckets are an object storage service and can offer low latency and flexibility. We also discussed cloud spanner, which is a fully managed relational database service. This is similar to the Google Cloud SQL service with the difference being that cloud SQL supports only MySQL and PostgreSQL engines. We ended the chapter by briefly looking at Google Cloud Bigtable, which is a petabyte scale NoSQL database service.
