Ackerman, Diane. A Natural History of the Senses. New York: Vintage Books, 1991. A beautifully written book about the senses and the feelings they evoke that can be enjoyed by readers with and without technical backgrounds. One of my longtime favorite books, it is bound to get the reader more interested in the senses.

Adams, James L. Conceptual Blockbusting: A Guide to Better Ideas. New York: Basic Books, 2001. My now well-aged collection of common “mental blocks” that, although they ease the brain’s burden, inhibit us from creativity and cause us to resist change. Ways to overcome them are included.
