When I started this book in May 2015, I didn’t expect it to be so long. I found the more I wrote, the more I felt the need to write. In fact, reaching the end has made me feel as if I’ve only just begun.

VBA has had 25 years to develop its comprehensive footprint. Apps Script is now about 6 years old. There are elements of VBA that will never be translatable to Apps Script, and there are definitely some parts that should be left far behind. On the other hand, there are some wonderful aspects of VBA that will be a great loss, not only for sentimental reasons, but also for their usability and affinity with the products with which they are associated.

Although the focus of this book has been mainly on transitioning from VBA to Apps Script (with some diversions along the way), my hope is that you have found something of value to help you on your journey, even if it started from somewhere other than Office.

My website and the communities mentioned will keep publishing and debating material related to this subject (and others). I highly recommend you keep the discussion going by following and joining the groups, and help me shape the content for the next book. With the speed of change in Google products, there will be plenty of new topics and migration strategies to cover.
