Creating a New Signature

A signature is personalized text that appears at the bottom of an email message. Signatures can include the sender’s name and contact information, his position in a company, or some personal message. Gmail lets you create a single signature and apply it to all your outgoing email messages.

Before you can add a signature to your outgoing messages, you first have to create a signature. Follow these steps:

1. Click the Settings (gear) button at the top right of the Gmail page, and then click Settings from the pull-down menu.

2. When the Settings page appears, select the General tab.
