Dr. Unurjargal Nyambuu is an international economist with an extensive background in research, industry, and teaching. She specializes in macroeconomic policy and international finance, and is currently a professor of Economics in the Department of Social Science at the New York City College of Technology of The City University of New York. Previously, she was a research fellow in the Finance and Risk Engineering Department of New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering. She has also served as an Economist for the Central Bank of Mongolia and has worked with the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, where she was involved in analyzing exchange rates, commodity price dynamics, balance of payments, and developing global business and trade strategies. As a member of the South East Asian Central Banks’ Expert Group, she specializes in capital flows and their impact on financial markets. Professor Nyambuu received her M.A. and doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in International Economics from The New School for Social Research in New York City. She completed an honors B.A. degree in Economics at Peking University in Beijing, China, with a specialization in Banking and Finance.
