BHUPINDER BRAR is Professor and Coordinator of the UGC Special Assistance Programme in the Department of Political Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh. His publications include Fifty Years of Independence: Critical Essays for the Common Man (1998); Explaining Communist Crises (1994); Soviet Collapse: Implications for India (1993); and Indian Studies in International Politics (1983).
