ISINs
Where securities are already in issue in the local market, they will usually bear the international securities identification number (ISIN) attributed in that jurisdiction. Where securities are first delivered or issued into Euroclear (as is the case with most Eurobonds), Euroclear will itself usually issue the ISIN bearing the prefix “XS.”2
