Upon acquiring McDonald’s Latin American operations in August 2007, Arcos Dorados became its largest franchisee in the world. The company is building on the region’s economic expansion, exhibiting a strong growth strategy that has led it to open 232 new McDonald’s restaurants, 124 McCafé locations, and 430 Dessert Centers; and to remodel 308 existing restaurants. By the end of 2011, Arcos Dorados operated 1,755 McDonald’s restaurants, 267 McCafés, and 1,300 Dessert Centers in 20 countries throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
