In July 2010, Min-Guk “MG” Kim and Kevin Andes were sitting together in a Sleepless in Seattle coffee shop next to the southern border of the beautiful Kyungpook National University (KNU) campus in Daegu, South Korea—about 100 minutes south of Seoul via the high-speed KTX train. Kim and Andes were both teaching business courses at KNU for the summer, but wanted to partner and open a coffee shop in Korea.
