10.1. Diversity Training: Part of the Problem or Part of the Solution?

Diversity training with a committed management team, a trainer who goes well beyond the downloadable teaching kit, and the appropriate time and space to delve deeply into the issues can be effective. Sadly, one or more of these necessary components is usually missing from such training.

Tell your employees that they are required to attend diversity training and they'll think they're being punished. At its conclusion, "high praise" equates to "That wasn't as bad as I thought" or "I actually learned something."
